Prepare your Application

We think our interview process is a great way to get to know you as a potential A.T. Kearney consultant. It’s also a great way for you, as a candidate, to get to know a little more about A.T. Kearney, and whether we are a good fit for you. That’s why we place a great deal of importance on the entire interview process. If you apply, then we want to do everything possible to allow you to perform at your very best. Here is some advice on how to prepare for the interviews.

During the application process, the most important component is the 60-minute case interview. During this interview, A.T. Kearney consultants will have the opportunity to evaluate your business thinking, your personality and your professional development.

During the case interview, you will be given a question/situation/problem and asked to resolve it. This case problem is often a business situation or a business case that the interviewer has worked on in real life. After you have been introduced to the situation, you will be expected to ask the interviewer logical and sequential questions in order to gain more understanding, gather information selectively and arrive at a solution or recommendation for the question or situation at hand.

Case interviews are used to evaluate analytical ability as well as problem-solving and verbal communication skills. While ‘correct answers’ are important, we actually place more emphasis on a clear approach and the ability to communicate that approach and why you have chosen it. Some numerical evaluation is usually part of the case.
